Nineoak’s has 3 Coarse lakes holding a mixed head of quality fish. Grass Carp are in all lakes except the Novice’s Pool.

Use Our Fishing School To arrange your Coarse Fishing Lessons Or Fly Fishing Tuition for yourself, or school parties, small no-overflows and as a birthday treat or birthday present. Corporate entertainment sessions or on a one-to-one basis. Our specially stocked Coarse Fishing Training Pool is packed with quality fish, so with expert guidance, beginners should start catching fish fairly quickly.

Fly Fishing Tuition is given on our Trout Pools. A Training session last at least 4 hours, after which you should have a good basic understanding of Fly Casting, Fishing etiquette, tactics, equipment set-up and fly to use and their presentation.

Those above were mighty pleased with their first catches - lovely Carp, skimmers and excellent Roach at their first attempt.

Nineoaks Fishery

has a resident qualified Angling Coach who is a bona-fide member of the Professional Anglers Association. He is available for:-

  • Personal tuition;
  • no-overflow angling tuition;
  • Birthday Fishing Parties;
  • School nature days;
  • Scouts or other associations Fishing Badge sessions;

Taster Session (Summer only):

One hours fishing in our Novices Pool Saturday or Sunday mornings throughout the summer. Cost £10 per person all equipment and bait provided.

Beginners:

On our specially stocked Novices Pool for people who wish to take up the fantastic and absorbing sport of still water coarse angling. Cost £15 per person for 4 hours fishing and all equipment, bait provided.

Available throughout the summer, please pre-book your session.

Refresher:

On Novices Pond, for lapsed anglers or those wishing to convert from other forms of angling and wish to refresh their Angling skills. Cost £20 per person for 4 hours fishing and all equipment, bait and coach provided. Available throughout the year, please pre-book your session.

Progression:

After Beginners or Refresher this provides you with the opportunity to develop your skills on your own but with the coach readily available and discretely observing you on the water and providing you with useful tips and advice at appropriate times thus allowing you to develop your angling skills at your own pace. Cost, Day ticket price plus £10 per person, coach provided. Available throughout the year; pre-booked sessions only.

Intermediate 1:

On Main Lake coaching for Float, Pole, Maggot Feeder, Basic Ledgering techniques, seasonality fishing techniques.

Cost, Day ticket price plus £15 per person, coach provided.

Available throughout the year; pre-booked sessions only.

Intermediate 2:

A more intense and in-depth tuition on Pole, Advanced Ledgering, Method Feeder, Cage Feeder and Species specific i.e. Tench.

Cost, Day ticket price plus £25 per person, coach provided.

Available throughout the year; pre-booked sessions only.

Specialist:

On Main or House pool Lakes, developing your skills, knowledge and stalking skills for targeting larger Carp.

Cost, Day ticket price plus £25 per person, coach provided.

Available summer; pre-booked sessions only.

Learn Fly Fishing - On one of our Trout Lakes:

During 4 hours of coaching you will learn :-
  • the casting basics,
  • setting up your rod,
  • overview of when to use various flies,
  • some knots to use,
  • fishing etiquette,
  • the basics of Trout fishing.

Cost, £60 per person, all equipment and coach provided. Available throughout the year; pre-booked sessions only.

Fly Progression:

After learning the basics of Fly Casting with the coach readily available and discretely observing you on the water he will provide you with useful tips and advice at appropriate times thus allowing you to develop your casting skills at your own pace.

Cost, Day ticket price plus £25 per person, coach provided.

Available throughout the year; pre-booked sessions only.

Angling School:

Each Sunday morning from 10am for about 1 hour throughout the summer coaching sessions are held in the Fishery Lodge. Budding anglers will learn all aspects of fishing including knots, hooks, techniques, Fly Tying, specialist equipment , photography etc.

Cost £1 per person with all necessary equipment included.

Our lakes:-

Main has an average depth of 4-5ft. There are plenty of trees, bushes and bays all around the lake that provide lots of features to fish in to and under. A good variety of Carp of all sizes with the biggest going into the mid-20’s. Main also has some excellent Roach fishing, skimmers, Tench and Grass carp up to 14lb. Bream are reputed to be in to double figures with a large black specimen infrequently caught. Mainly Bream of around 3/4-1lb mark are caught on sweetcorn.

House is about 10ft deep in the middle with the margins being about 4ft deep. Plenty of features and trees/bushes on 3 sides and a large lilly bed. House. like Main, has a good head of Carp plus Bream, excellent Roach, Tench and a couple of Grass Carp up to 10lb. Carp here go up to 18lb with an average of about 4lb. With its good depth, fishing on the bottom away from the banks generally with sweetcorn, good number of decent Bream are caught. Mainly around the 1-1 1/2lb mark. With a few bigger specimens and plenty of smaller ones to keep you busy.

Novices is between 6 and 8ft deep in the middle. Some tree cover and deep margins. Carp up to 4lb with plenty of 1/2lb’ers and good Roach to keep the novice, beginner or expert angler busy all day. there are a small number of skimmer Bream in this pool. To one side of the Lake there is a thick hedge providing plenty of cover when it’s windy.
